About me

Joonyi Sung is the IT Head of Project Hangang at the Bank of Korea, leading the nation’s pioneering digital currency initiative. Since joining the Bank in 2004, he has built a multidisciplinary career as an IT Manager, Strategist, and Economist. He holds Master’s degrees in Public Policy (MPP), Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), and Finance. Joonyi specializes in merging complex financial ecosystems with emerging technologies like CBDCs and Agentic AI.
